Embolism
      Embolus is any intravascular (solid, liquid or gaseous) mass that is carried by the blood to a site distant from its point of origin, resulting in the occlusion of a vessel.
      The process of embolus formation and its lodgement to the distant site is known as embolism.

Based on the site of lodgement of the embolus in the circulatory system
q Pulmonary thromboembolism
q Systemic thromboembolism
Other types, based on the embolus nature
q Fat embolism
q Amniotic fluid embolism
q Air embolism
